A Project in Print!

I am so excited to share with you that one of my projects was featured in the July issue of Parents Magazine!  In February, I was contacted by one of the editors, asking if they could use some of my garage storage projects for an upcoming issue on organization.  Um...yes!  The July 2015 issue of Parents Magazine is on newsstands now!

If you are visiting as a result of the article, welcome!  You can find the full garage storage posts here and here.  I would love for you to stick around!  You can read my latest posts by subscribing via email (below my picture on the right side) or through your favorite blog reading service.

While I'm on the topic of garage features, I would also like to thank the following websites for featuring parts of our garage as well:

Thanks for reading!  I hope your week is off to a great start!

A Few Exciting Features!

Last month our study was featured on two exciting sites!  I guess I got so star struck that I forgot to share with you guys!  Oops!  Anyway, it was featured at I Heart Organizing & Apartment Therapy

I hope you’ll stop by & check out these features & some of the other many great projects & ideas you can find on their sites!

Also, I wanted to let you know that my sister started a food blog.  Aimee has a love & a gift for cooking that she is now sharing with the world!  I hope you'll stop by her blog Fork, Heart, Kentucky!

Remodelaholic Feature!

I'm so excited to say that my half bathroom is being featured on Remodelaholic today!  I'd love for you to check it out!  It's a combination of a couple of posts from this blog.

This isn't the first time I've talked about Remodelaholic on this blog.  If you're not already following this fabulous blog, you should definitely check it out!  It is filled with inspirations from reader submissions to their own fabulous home renovations!  Below is a picture of their awesome half bathroom!

A Few Features…

Within the past month, my blog has been featured a few places that I thought I should share with you...

First, I was contacted by Houselogic about featuring our garage in a post they were doing on garage storage.  I was pretty excited for my blog to be mentioned by the National Association of Realtors!  You can see the story here.

Soon after that, Beth from Home Stories A to Z featured my half bathroom, which you can see here.  When you stop by her blog, be sure to check out the Inspiration Files if you have a few hours some time!

Next up, Hometalk featured the creek stone patio & fire pit my husband built on their facebook page.  Hometalk is a great resource, where homeowners can share pictures of their inspiring projects & even ask DIY questions & get answers from professionals!  I encourage you to check it out if you haven’t already done so!  You can see my Hometalk posts here.

Then, just a few days ago, Lindsey from Better After featured our half bathroom!  Her site features tons of before & after pictures that are sure to inspire you & even make you question, “Why didn’t I think of that?”.  Here is the bathroom feature.

Thanks for the features everyone!  I am truly ecstatic about them all!

My First Guest Post!

Hey everyone!  Today I am guest posting for Andie at Crayon Freckles as part of her "In Her Shoes" series.  Feel free to stop by & find out what it's like in my shoes!

While you're there, check out Andie's blog.  There, she shares a lot of fun learning experiences to create with your children.  You'll definitley want to check out her Don't Let the Pigeon DIY Shirt.  It is adorable!

Remodelaholic Feature!

I was so excited to see an e-mail from Cassity & Justin at Remodelaholic a few days ago!  They featured my Curvy DIY Headboard, which you can see by clicking the link.

If you are not familiar with Remodelaholic, be sure to stop by & check out their blog.  Cassity is an interior designer & Justin is a landscape architect, so they definitely have some serious talent when it comes to fixing up their home.  (They're on their third whole house remodel!)  Right now, they are doing a guest series at House Logic on a wall of built-ins they are creating for their family room.  You'll definitely want to check it out, as it's pretty amazing!

Thanks Justin & Cassity for featuring my project!  You made me giddy!

Back to Blogging & Features!

I am finally getting back into the swing of blogging, now that summer is over.  Boo!

I was a little depressed that I didn't manage to finish the last three things on my Revised Project List for summer (paint & decorate entry way, paint & decorate dining room, & make & hang morning room curtains).  Two out of three of those projects have been started, but the results were less than desirable!

My mom made curtains for the morning room & we hung them, but I didn't like the finished product.  I ordered more fabric, which arrived yesterday, so I'm hoping that if I add another panel that it will look better.  Also, we made our own curtain rods, & I don't like them either, so something will have to be done about those!

We also started painting the entry way.  I spent an entire day painting all of the walls of our entry, upstairs hallway, & downstairs hallway to determine that the paint color I chose looked the color of foundation (the makeup).  {Excuse the interruption, but my daughter just informed me she made a "yogurt sandwich".  Grrr...}  Anyway, I have managed to make a few changes to the entry way, but I still need to paint, find a new rug, and recover a stool.  Oh, and my husband agreed that we should add wainscoting and arch the entryway into our living room!  So, it looks like this project just got bigger!  Hopefully, we can get started soon!

With all these set backs, plus not having my teacher-husband around to help anymore, plus taking on a babysitting job, I haven't been able to get back into the routine of blogging or doing projects to blog about.  All this is just to say, that while I was having my blogging pity-party, I was featured on a few blogs that I never shared with you.  I always appreciate it when my projects are featured on other blogs, & didn't want these ladies to go unnoticed!

First, Andie at Crayon Freckles featured the nature playscape we created to get our kids out of the house & into nature.  (Doesn't the Dinosaur Train guy say something like that???)  Anyway, Andie has been so kind to me in my blogging adventure & I always appreciate her kind words!  She hosts a link party on Tuesdays & shares a lot of creative ideas to do with your kiddos.  You can see where she featured the playscape here.

Next, Amanda from Serenity Now featured my roundup of homemade laundry supplies.  I am feeling very proud of my clean laundry lately, knowing that I made all the supplies for it!  Amanda's blog is full of posts about everything "moms" need to stay sane!  She posts about food, fashion, blogging, crafts, decorating, and more!  She hosts a weekend link party on Fridays.  You can see the post where she featured my laundry supplies here.

 Featured At Serenity Now

My most recent feature was made by Nan at Playful Decor, who featured my daughter's bedroom.  I am a new follower of Nan's blog, in which she shares the transformation of their home and great inspiration pictures of nurseries and kid bedrooms.  She also hosts a link party on Tuesdays for kids' bedrooms, where you'll find a lot of great inspiration!  Here is a link to her post featuring Eliana's bedroom.

Thanks for the features!  I should be back Monday with another project to share!

Featured & "You Might Also Like" links...

On Friday, as I was checking my blogs, I noticed that Sommer from Designer Garden featured my Dresser Do-Over!  It is always so exciting to see one of my projects featured, especially on a great blog!  Be sure to check out Sommer's blog to see room reveals, furniture makeovers, sewing projects, & to link up your projects to her VIP link parties.  Thanks for the feature Sommer!

Designer Garden

Now, for the second part of this post...Ever since I started my blog, I have been trying to figure out how to add the "You might also like" links. Apparently, everyone except me has figured this out! In case there is anyone out there that also wants this feature & can't figure out how to add it, I thought I would share the secret! (I'm sure if I would have asked someone, this problem could have been solved a long time ago!)

Anyway, while I was visiting another blog today, I noticed the "You might also like" links & noticed a small word below it that said, "linkwithin". To get this feature, just click the "linkwithin" button & follow the directions. It's pretty simple, & hopefully, it will keep readers around your blog a little longer!

Hope you have a wonderful Labor Day!

Wendy

Featured at Simple Home Life!

Today, as I was checking out my favorite blogs, I was excited to see that Jackie from Simple Home Life featured my Dresser Do-Over on her blog today.  Be sure to check out her blog & all the great projects she's working on!  Also, she has a link party on Fridays, so be sure to link up your projects on her site!

Thanks Jackie!

Garage Features!

I was so excited to find out that my garage organization had been featured on a couple of great blogs!

I almost fell out of my seat when I was reading Just A Girl's blog & saw my garage as one of her favorite projects linked to her Show & Share Day party!  Thanks so much for the feature Chris!

Lori from Be Different Act Normal also did a feature on my garage!  I am a new follower to her blog, which features a lot of inspiration from around the blogosphere.

Thanks for the features!  It is so nice to know that my blog can help inspire others!

Featured at Remodelaholic!

I woke up to an exciting e-mail from Justin & Cassity over at Remodelaholic, letting me know they would be featuring our DIY entertainment center today!  I am beyond excited!  Thanks so much for the feature!

Remodelaholic was one of the first blogs I started following.  They feature a lot of DIY projects & room remodels, but they have done some amazing remodels themselves!  Right now they are in the midst of an unbelievable stair makeover in their third house.  You can see that project here.  You can also click these links to see their first and second whole house remodels!
If you haven't already, please pay Justin & Cassity a visit or even become a follower!  You are sure to find great ideas & inspiration on their site!
Thanks again for the feature!

Featured!

I would like to thank Andie Jaye from Crayon Freckles for featuring the duct tape shirt I made with my son!  Be sure to stop by her blog & even link up to her Tip-Toe Thru Tuesday link party!

Thanks for the feature!

Secretary Feature & Why I'm So Tired!

I would like to thank Courtney at French Country Cottage for featuring my secretary makeover.  I failed to mention in my post that I found it on Craigslist for $75!  Others on Craiglist were priced around $250, so I feel that I got a GREAT deal!

Be sure to visit Courtney's blog.  It's not too late to link up to her Feathered Nest Friday party!

On another note, I haven't been doing the blogging thing much this week (other than my pre-scheduled posts) since I decided to complicate my life by starting two big projects at the same time!  (Why do I do this to myself???)  By morning I have been working on staining the deck (Three days down & about four to go...who knew it would take SO long...) and by night I have been adding dirt, flowers, & mulch to the front landscaping.  (We can finally cross something off our list, but you'll have to wait until next week to see it!)

I'm taking a break from the deck today, since the forecast calls for thunderstorms.  Instead, I will be taking the next 2 & 1/2 days to deep clean & organize the house, as we have company coming on Sunday!  Let's just say the dishes haven't been loaded in the dishwasher for two days & my kids emptied the recycling container on the kitchen floor to make something for the "carnival" they were having while I was busy staining the deck!

Well, I just heard Eliana say, "Zeke, do you want to play carnival again?".  Better go before they empty out the garbage can!!

Involving Color Feature!

Just wanted to let you know that Jena at Involving Color added my son's & daughter's room & family room to the room galleries on her site.  You can see the feature here.

If you have never visited Jena's blog, you'll definitely want to check it out!  You are sure to find lots of inspiration in the room galleries & from her lovely before & after home tour!

Thanks for the feature Jena!

I was so excited last night when I got an e-mail letting me know my Mantle Makeover was going to be featured for Inspiration Friday At The Picket Fence!  I feel so honored!

Thanks to all of my followers & all the nice comments!  I feel very blessed to have found such a great, supportive community of bloggers!
